I love museums! When I visit a new city, I'd spend at least a few hours on museum visits. Museums have different themes, I have visited a toy museum in Prague, an ancient musical instrument museum in Athens, a dumpling museum in Tokyo, etc. If you don't find these museums entertaining enough, you can certain go visit the Museum of Toilets (New Dehli, India) or the Banana Museum (Washington, USA). One article from the Daily Mail may give you some ideas of how weird museum themes can get. See the Top Ten Weird Museums Around the World.
When traveling with children, museum visit is usually a good idea to put on the itinerary for all kinds of reasons - one can stay away from the sun for a while, museum usually has restroom, etc. However, rather than picking those boring art museums for children, here is a list of museums from around the world that are built just for kids! Check them out when you happen to be nearby!
