This series of book is written by one of the awarding-winning children book authors, Martin Waddell, who has also written "Owl Babies".
I like Waddell's stories because there's something about the storylines that children love. Many of his books' hidden message is "no matter what happens, momm and daddy are always there for you; they would never leave you." Perhaps this is the reason why children like his stories so much. The moral he promotes in his books satisfies children's need of feeling secured and loved.
Out of the 5 books in this "little bear" series, "Well Done, Little Bear" has to be my favorite. It's about Little Bear going outdoor with Big Bear and how he's so keen to show Big Bear all that he can do in nature (hopping, bouncing, swinging, etc.). Big Bear keeps saying "Well Done!" as sign of compliment. Then, something terrible happens as Little Bear is showing off...(Obviously, this is the hook that makes children want to hear the story over and over again!)
