Year 3 music: Morning Song

The morning song that we have been singing in class was adapted from a very famous piece of orchestral work by a Norwegian composer, Edvard Grieg.  This particular piece is called "Morning Mood." Click and play the following video for the orchestra version of our morning song!

Guess what? This piece is part of an orchestral piece called Peer Gynt. Peer Gynt (or Per Gynt) is a Norwegian fairytale. Another famous song from Peer Gynt is called In the Hall of the Mountain King. Disney has used this song in the cartoon The Emperor's New Groove.
