In the first half of Year 2, we have listened to songs from Bolivia, Greece, Israel and Australia. There is no in-depth study, we may create some silly dance for the australian song we learn, or we'd watch a Greek boy playing a bouzouki with Aegean sea as the back drop. It's not world class performance we're watching, but it's relevant and, most importantly, it's fun~
I give them lyrics when I introduce a foreign song (both the original and English translation). It's a beautiful scene when I see children trying so hard to follow the lyrics and sing along to the music. TIK TIK TAK is a Greek song they love.
It's sung by a Greek pop singer, Glykeria); children loves the rhythm and would join in everytime when the music sings "tik tik tiki tiki tak," which depicts the beating of of the heart. This is the original version they hear in class.
